Jeet Kune Do
Jeet Kune Do (JKD) is the martial art created by the legendary Bruce Lee, who is considered to be the father of mixed martial arts.
Directly translated, Jeet Kune Do means “Way of the Intercepting Fist”. JKD teaches efficiency, directness, and simplicity to achieve economy of motion, wasting no time or movement, teaching that the simplest things work best. Jeet Kune Do’s practitioners believe in minimal effort with maximum effect.
Bruce Lee, in his article written in 1971 for Black Belt Magazine said “JKD is not a form of special conditioning with its own rigid philosophy. It looks at combat not from a single angle, but from all possible angles.”
