Here are the answers to some of our frequently asked questions!
For your free trial class, plan on arriving fifteen minutes early. This will give you time to meet the instructor before class, view the facility, and meet the other students. All of our classes at Elite Combat Systems are work-at-your-own-pace, so beginners never feel left out! You will begin to learn the basics and fundamentals of whichever class you have chosen to attend, and will have gotten a top notch workout in by the end!
Yes. Elite Combat Systems requires that all students have a signed waiver on file before they can participate in classes.
Elite Combat Systems has equipment for beginners to borrow, however it is highly encouraged that students purchase their own boxing gloves.
More advanced students may require additional equipment, but that will be determined by their instructor and discussed in class.
Some classes require students to bring a mouth guard for safety reasons.

For Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes (excluding no-gi jiu jitsu) students will need to wear a gi (which can be purchased at Elite Combat Systems or from an outside source), and be properly tied with a belt.
For all other classes students should dress comfortably. Wear clothing that breathes and allows movement because you will be working and sweating. Shorts, sweatpants, and non-revealing leggings or yoga pants are all good options, along with rash guards, t-shirts, and tank tops. Clothing worn at the academy should be clean and appropriate with no undergarments showing.
Long hair should be secured back with a hair tie or braided. Fingernails and toenails should be short and neatly trimmed. All jewelry and piercings should be removed.

Children under the age of 15 are welcome to join our Kids Mighty Warriors program, and are also welcome at Family Brazilian Jiu Jitsu on Saturdays.
There are no weight restrictions at Elite Combat Systems! Everyone is welcome regardless of their physical condition. All classes will be adapted to meet individuals where they are.

Classes at Elite Combat Systems are safe and students will never be expected to do anything they are not comfortable with.
Students will set their own boundaries allowing the thrill-seekers to push the limits with others who are willing to do the same, while others prefer a more hands-off approach. That being said, martial arts are a sport, and injuries are always possible while participating in sports.
However, proper form, effective safety precautions, and high-quality instructing provide the safest environment possible for our students.
